When you install and use Opening Hours, we collect the following information:
- Shop Information: Your Shopify store domain and basic store details required for app functionality.
- Location Data: Google Place IDs that you provide when adding business locations to display opening hours.
- Preferences: Your selected language and sync frequency settings.
We do not collect any personal information from your customers. The widget displays publicly available business hours and does not track or store visitor data.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information to:
- Sync your business opening hours from Google Maps to your Shopify store.
- Display accurate hours on your storefront via the widget.
- Store your preferences for language and sync frequency.
- Provide customer support when you contact us.
3. Third-Party Services
Opening Hours integrates with the following third-party services:
- Google Places API: We use Google's Places API to fetch your business opening hours. This is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
- Shopify: Your data is stored using Shopify's infrastructure (Metafields). This is subject to Shopify's Privacy Policy.
4. Data Storage
Your data is stored in two locations:
- Shopify Metafields: Opening hours data is stored directly in your Shopify store's metafields.
- Our Database: We store minimal configuration data (shop domain, Place IDs, preferences) in a secure PostgreSQL database.
All data is transmitted using HTTPS encryption.
5. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as you have the app installed. When you uninstall Opening Hours:
- Your configuration data is deleted from our database within 48 hours.
- Metafields storing hours data are automatically removed by Shopify.
6. Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about your store.
- Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Erasure: Request deletion of your data.
- Portability: Request your data in a portable format.
